craigslist.org is the most popular online free ad posting site. It's built on local market concept. So it doesn't provide any tool to search across multiple cities or categories. But sometimes we need to search nationwide to seek for some opportunities.
Craigslist even doesn't allow any third part to create any site which will allow the visitors to search craigslist nationwide. However, search engines (google, yahoo, msn etc) are allowed to do so. So the only permissible way to do Nationwide craigslist search is to use search engines like google, aol, live.com etc.
If you are familiar with advance search options of google then doing a "Nationwide craigslist search" is not impossible. But remembering and typing those advance options each time may be tedious.
http://craigslist-search.blogspot.com/ may be very helpful for you to search the entire craigslist.
It's a custom google search engine. So it's not against TOS of craigslist to use this tool since it's a search engine.
Such custom search tools for doing Nationwide craigslist search may also be created with Yahoo Pipe. But I didn't try. The only problem with this craigslist search engine is that it will not include the postings posted few minutes ago. It may take few hours for a post to be indexed by google. This limitation is beneficial as well. Because most of the spam postings will be flagged before google index those. So you will get less spamm postings but more quality postings when you search with this custom craigslist search engine.
